A Message From Chris
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our community as your Hamblen County Mayor. One of my greatest motivations for continuing in this role is my calling to serve. Service is at the heart of who I am. I remain fully committed to giving my very best to Hamblen County and its citizens.
Over the past eight years, I have worked diligently to help individuals across our county with a wide range of needs. I make it a priority to answer calls, texts, and emails promptly, doing everything possible to help resolve concerns. Public service requires sacrifice, including being available when people need you, and I have embraced that responsibility wholeheartedly. If I am unable to respond immediately, I assure you a return call or message will follow as soon as possible.
I believe deeply in Hamblen County, its people, its growth, and its tremendous potential. I have seen firsthand the progress we’ve made and the opportunities that lie ahead. That is why I remain committed to providing positive, proactive leadership, anticipating challenges, planning wisely, and preparing for the future. Together, we can continue building upon the strong foundation we share.
Having lived in Hamblen County most of my life, I am proud to call this community home. Many of you I know personally. I am a product of Russellville, East Ridge, East High, and Walters State Community College. My life was forever changed when I accepted the saving grace of Jesus Christ and was baptized in 1974 at Russellville Baptist Church. My wife and I are members of First Baptist Church of Morristown, and we are humbled daily by God’s mercy and grace. While I am not perfect, my motives are sincere and guided by a genuine desire to serve.
In recent years, Hamblen County has experienced historic financial growth. At the same time, I remain mindful that economic conditions can change quickly. With ongoing concerns about inflation and interest rates, I am committed to making conservative, responsible financial decisions that protect our citizens and safeguard our future.
Transparency has always been a cornerstone of my leadership. I welcome open and honest conversations and encourage residents to reach out. While we may not always agree, respectful dialogue builds understanding and strengthens our community. My goal is to use the best information available to make decisions that benefit Hamblen County as a whole.
Hamblen County is truly one of the jewels of East Tennessee, and I am dedicated to ensuring it remains a place of pride, growth, and opportunity. I am honored to serve as your Hamblen County Mayor, and I humbly ask for your continued support. It is my heart and my calling to serve our county with integrity, commitment, and faith.
